Bee Interested

Swift Survey continues
Birdwatch Ireland will continue their commission to survey OPW Heritage Sites throughout Ireland for nesting swifts. Two of the four new sites selected for monitoring in 2018 are Jerpoint Abbey, Thomastown and St. Mary’s Church, Gowran. Nature Connection Workshop
Kilkenny County Childcare Committee have organised a Nature Connection Morning in Woodstock Gardens on Saturday 16th June for Early Year’s Practitioners, Teachers and Artists. Creative Ireland Grant Scheme 2018-2019
A new national Creative Ireland Programme Grant Scheme 2018-2019, recently announced by Minister Madigan, aims to identify, support and collaborate with a range of strategic partners on projects that are genuinely innovative. Grants of €10,000-€70,000 are available to individuals, organisations, community groups, colleges and cultural institutions. Key Challenges in European Nature Law and Policy

‘New Horizons for Nature’
A major two day conference on biodiversity will be held on 20th-21st February 2019 in Dublin Castle. This conference will bring together all the interested parties to discuss the challenges and explore the solutions to achieve a common goal of reversing biodiversity losses. Wetlands Guide published
Ireland’s Ramsar Wetlands Committee has published a manual on Irish Wetlands Types which provides information for the non-specialist on the different types of wetlands in Ireland and how to identify them. With new data protection regulations now in force all of our databases have been emailed asking them if they wish to continue receiving information from us about Heritage and Creative Ireland Kilkenny.
