Inistioge – Gold Medal Winners in Entente Florale

The 20th July 2018 was the adjudication day for the Europe wide Entente Florale competition for the beautiful village of Inistioge.  Inistioge was nominated by Ireland to represent the country in the village category of this prestigious competition.
A huge amount of hard work was undertaken by local people and Inistioge Tidy Towns, in partnership with Kilkenny County Council.
Kilkenny County Council Heritage Office was delighted to use the opportunity of the Entente Florale competition to undertake and support a number of valuable heritage surveys and projects in Inistioge, which will have benefits long into the future.

They include:
Inistioge Green Infrastructure Map – a map identifying the Green Infrastructure and Ecosystem Services in Inistioge (prepared with GIS Project Officer and Area Planner)
Biodiversity Action Plan for St Columcille’s National School (prepared by Biodiversity in Schools)
Inistioge Pollinator Planting List (prepared by Dr. Fiona MacGowan)
Inistioge Heritage Trail Brochure (produced by Inistioge Tidy Towns, designed by Alé Mercado)
