€263,000 Financial Assistance for Heritage Buildings in Kilkenny
Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Josepha Madigan TD, has announced the details of the grants to be awarded under this year’s Historic Structures Fund (HSF) and Built Heritage Investment Scheme (BHIS). €165,000 has been allocated to projects in Kilkenny, under HSF, including Rothe House, St. Canice’s Cathedral, and €98,000 has been allocated to projects in Kilkenny under BHIS. These schemes are administered in Kilkenny by the Kilkenny County Council Conservation Officer. The life, writings & activities of Ernie O’Malley talk
Kilkenny Archaeological Society will host a talk, by his son Cormac O’Malley, on the life, writings and activities of Ernie O’Malley on Wednesday 10th April @ 8pm in Rothe House, Kilkenny.  An Irish Republican Army officer during the Irish War of Independence he was also a champion of Irish arts and an author of three books. Admission: Members €7 Non-members €10.

Fethard-on-Sea boycott talk

Valuing our Scientific Collections workshop
The Heritage Council and the TCD School of Botany have organised a short workshop in Trinity on 30th April from 10.30am – 1.30pm to introduce a new EU initiative called DiSSCo (Distributed System of Scientific Collections) which aims to transform Europe’s natural history collections into a sustainable pillar of scientific excellence.
