Oral Heritage Recordings Audit Final Call
The audit of Kilkenny Oral Heritage Recordings will come to a conclusion soon. We would like to ask anyone out there who might have oral heritage recordings tucked away in their attics to contact us. This audit will advise those interested in oral heritage as to what recordings are available out there. The deadline for inclusion in the audit is Friday 19th October. Dig: the value of archaeology for society and the economy
The Heritage Council, in collaboration with several government departments and semi-state bodies, will host a five-day event on the ways in which archaeology impacts positively on our society and economy from 5th -8th Nov in Kilkenny and 9th Nov in Dublin. Design & Craft Council of Ireland
Minister Madigan recently announced €1.2m investment in 30 new National Creativity Fund initiatives as part of the Creative Ireland Programme. The Design & Craft Council of Ireland, based in Kilkenny, received funding for their ‘Design Skills’ programme which aims to develop design thinking capacity with students in post-primary schools. Heritage Week 2019
The Heritage Council have confirmed the dates for National Heritage Week 2019. It will take place from Saturday 17th to Sunday 25th August.  Further details regarding the theme and training for event organisers will be announced in due course. Watch this space.
NeighbourWood Information Day
The Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine will host an information day about the NeighbourWood Scheme on 16th October from 10am – 2pm in the Havel Hotel, Dunmore East, Co. Waterford. This is a funding package aimed specifically at supporting communities, local authorities and other social partners in the development of local woodland amenities which provides grant aid of up to 85% of the cost of various developments.
