Heritage Week 2019 will take place from 17th-25th August. This year’s theme is Pastimes and Past Times. Why not take a stroll through history and explore how our free time has evolved in often fascinating ways. Our pastimes today have been shaped by hundreds of years of storytelling, craft, sport and music.
Coordinated by the Heritage Council and supported in County Kilkenny by Kilkenny County Council Heritage Office, National Heritage Week is Ireland’s most popular cultural event with half a million people expected to enjoy over 2,200 heritage events across Ireland.
