Pat Walsh Commemorative Weekend
Dunamaggin will host their annual event to commemorate the memory and sacrifice that locals paid in their fight for Irish Independence on 20th-21st April in Dunamaggin. A historic lecture, parade, commemorative hurling match and an exhibition of traditional Irish music and dance will be part of this event. Further details osullivanl@hotmail.com

An Irish Wildlife Rangers Life
Birdwatch Ireland Kilkenny branch will host an illustrated talk, by Lorcan Scott, Wildlife Officer Heritage Council, on Tuesday 30th April @8pm in the Club House Hotel, Kilkenny.  All are welcome. The Waterford Crystal Story lecture
Waterford Archaeological & Historical Society will host a lecture, by Dr. John M. Hearne, historian and former master glass-cutter, on Waterford Crystal – The Creation of a Global Brand, 1700-2009, on Friday 26th April @ 8pm in St. Patrick’s Gateway Centre, Waterford. “Rendez-vous aux Jardins”

Upcoming Environment & Nature Fund 2019 grants
The Community Foundation of Ireland has advised us that their Environment & Nature Fund 2019 grants programme will open on 17th May for applications. They will invite communities to apply for grant funding to engage an ecologist and develop a Community Biodiversity Action Plan for their local areas. Further information will be available nearer the application date.
