Kilkenny City & County Development Plan Draft
The Draft Kilkenny City & County Development Plan 2021-2027 is available for public consultation on Consult.Kilkenny.ie and copies in all the Kilkenny Libraries. Markievicz Award bursary scheme
Minister Catherine Martin recently announced that the Decade of Centenaries Markievicz Award bursary scheme for artists will be significantly enhanced for the period 2021-2023 and will open online for applications via the Arts Council’s website on Tuesday, 5th January and will close at 5.30pm, Thursday 4th February 2021. This award is intended to support artists to develop their craft and ultimately produce great art that recognises and commemorates the role of women in the historical period covered by the decade of Centenaries and beyond. Oral History Network of Ireland Membership
The Oral History Network of Ireland brings together individuals, local history groups and academics, who collect and use oral history, so that each can learn from the other. They provide advice, run training courses, conferences etc. Membership is open to individuals, groups and institutions and there are special group rates for local history groups. If you’re interested in oral history or planning on undertaking an oral history project in your area, it’s a good investment. https://www.oralhistorynetworkireland.ie

Irish Walled Towns Network

Heritage Council Community Grant Scheme 2021
The Heritage Council has confirmed that their very popular Community Grant Scheme will go ahead in 2021 and will be advertised in March.

Garden Bird Survey
Birdwatch Ireland want to remind you that you can still be a part of their Garden Bird Survey which will continue right through till the end of February 2021. Over 1000 gardens take part each year and taking part is fun, easy and an ideal way to get to know your garden birds better. The Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage have published a guide to help those who own or are custodians of Irish historic buildings in the event of a disaster.
