Let’s get buzzing 2022
Tidy Towns groups are encouraged to get buzzing and enter the Local Authority Pollinator Award in the national Tidy Towns competition. The award, with a €10,000 prize fund, supports Tidy Towns groups to implement pollinator-friendly actions. This includes a “Best Newcomer Award” with a prize of €1,000.
Wild Irish bees, crucial to the pollination of our plants, trees and vegetables, are in decline and this award aims to reverse this trend by encouraging Tidy Towns groups to take simple pollinator-friendly measures in their local area.
The closing date is Friday 10th June 2022. For more details and application forms, see https://pollinators.ie/communities/tidytowns-pollinator-award/enter-the-2021-local-authority-pollinator-award/ or contact the Kilkenny Heritage Officer.
