The Kilkenny Mass Paths & Holy Well Surveys: Heritage Recording Workshops with Marion Sutton and Pat Reid.

Tuesday 24th September from 4pm – 6pm at Castlecomer Library

Wednesday 25th September from 4pm – 6pm at Glenmore Community Centre

Please join us for a chat and information sharing session with Marion Sutton and Pat Reid who will be providing information about the Kilkenny Mass Paths & Holy Well Surveys. They will also demonstrate how to record your local Mass Paths & Holy Well using freely available on-line technology. This workshop invites members of the public to develop their heritage skills and tell us all about your local holy wells and mass paths.

All are welcome. Free event.

Heritage Council invites nominations from Kilkenny event organisers for National Heritage Week Awards

The Heritage Council has announced details of this year’s National Heritage Week Awards, inviting nominations from all event organisers in Kilkenny. Every year, the Heritage Council seeks nominations for individuals or groups of people who showcased successful heritage projects and hosted engaging events during the festival.

Event organisers, who must put themselves forward for consideration for an award, can submit nominations for the National Heritage Awards from below, before the deadline on Tuesday 24th of September 2024: https://www.heritageweek.ie/awards

Kilkenny Witch Trials Launch – 13th September 2024

Ethics and Oral History Virtual Training Workshop

Oral History Network Ireland are running their next online workshop on ethics and oral history takes place next Friday 20th September from 10am – 1pm.

                                                       

This is a half-day online workshop designed as a follow on from the introductory workshops and focuses specifically on the ethics and legalities of conducting oral histories.

National Monuments Service 7th Annual One-Day Archaeology Conference

This conference will be held at Dublin Castle, Dublin on the 12 October and is open for in-person attendance and available on-line. Wordwell | Archaeology Ireland is organising this conference on behalf of the National Monuments Service.

In-person attendance is available for €25 (seniors/subscribers to Archaeology Ireland and students and includes tea/coffee breaks and a light lunch. On-line is available for €10.
