Kilkenny County Heritage Strategy Consultation

Kilkenny County Council is embarking on an exciting journey to develop a new County Heritage Strategy. Heritage is a vital part of our identity and community, and it is essential to ensure its protection for future generations. This strategy will help preserve, protect, and promote the rich heritage of our county within a local, regional and national context.

Kilkenny County Council are committed to making this strategy inclusive and reflective of the values and aspirations of the people of Kilkenny. Therefore, all residents, local organisations, and stakeholders in Kilkenny’s heritage are invited to participate in the consultation process by sharing their views on the actions required to safeguard and promote the heritage of Kilkenny. This input will shape a strategy that truly represents the diverse heritage of County Kilkenny.

A discussion paper has been prepared to start the process of consultation and this is available to view here. Alternatively a paper copy can be requested via heritage@kilkennycoco.ie or by ringing 056-7794923.

Submissions can also be made until Wednesday 30th April 2025 via:
