Motte Field Callan
Working in partnership with the Callan Area Office, the Heritage Office is overseeing the creation of 4 new interpretive boards for the new park which is being developed at the Motte Field, Callen. The boards will tell the fascinating story of the site, from when this huge fortified Motte was built by the Anglo Normans to the role it played as a dance venue in Callan in the 1950’s and 60’s.

Pollinator News to Tidy Towns
In partnership with the National Biodiversity Data Centre, the Heritage Office produced a national newsletter for Tidy Towns Groups with practical advice and tips for groups entering the Local Authority Pollinator Award in the national Tidy Towns competition. It includes articles from Keep Kilkenny Beautiful and Tullahought Tidy Towns, Kilkenny winners in the 2019 competition. With Tidy Towns postponed for 2020, there’s plenty of time to start planning for next year.
