Tackling Invasive Species at Silaire Woods and Woodstock
Kilkenny County Council have commissioned 2 plans to tackle invasive species at Silaire Wood (Graiguenamanagh) and Woodstock Estate (Inistioge). Invas Biosecurity and Flynn Furney will map the problem species (Himalayan balsam at Silaire Wood; Cherry laurel at Woodstock), and propose long term management and control measures. Co-operation with other agencies such as Waterways Ireland, Coillte and neighbouring local authorities will be the key to success.  The plans are funded by the National Parks and Wildlife Service (Dept.
