Help Kilkenny’s hedgehogs

Kilkenny County Council Decade of Centenaries Programme 2021
The Kilkenny County Council Community Strand of the Decade of Centenaries Programme 2021 is designed to raise awareness and encourage engagement with the significant events and people from County Kilkenny associated with 1921.  The Council invited applications from the community for a public grant scheme and to date has awarded funding to eight projects in the first round of grant offers. Dawn Chorus webinar

New Volunteer Centre service for Co. Kilkenny
Kilkenny Volunteer Centre is a new service for Co Kilkenny. It offers supports to people who wish to volunteer, and also to organisations who wish to engage volunteers by brokering matches between the two.    If you would like to volunteer, you can visit www.volunteerkilkenny.ie and see vacant volunteering positions across the county.   If you are involved with a local non-profit group which needs new volunteers, you can register your group with Kilkenny Volunteer Centre and advertise your volunteering roles.  To find out more go to www.volunteerkilkenny.ie

Kilkenny County Council Cruinniú na nÓg Programme
An exciting range of projects for children and young people will take place in Kilkenny on June 12th for Cruinniú na nÓg, the national day of free creativity for children and young people. €117,600 in Built Heritage Investment Scheme grants for Kilkenny
Minister Noonan recently announced €3m in funding for 477 built heritage projects across the country.  14 projects have been allocated a total funding of €117,600 in Kilkenny City and County where the fund is managed by the Architectural Conservation Officer of Kilkenny County Council.  Further details available at https://www.gov.ie/en/press-release/a61a2-built-heritage-investment-scheme-2021/

Supporting Biodiversity in Your Community – Online workshop 
National Volunteer Week takes place from 17th – 23rd May 2021. Don’t forget to register for the Town & Village Health Checks Community Workshops
Kilkenny County Council Community Section, in conjunction with Turley Planning Consultants, have launched a Health Check consultation to inform new town plans for Castlecomer, Urlingford, Johnstown, Goresbridge, Thomastown and Mullinavat.  This is an opportunity for communities to highlight the built, natural and cultural heritages of their towns that are important to them and which they would like to see addressed in the health checks. Circular Economy Innovation Grant Scheme open for applications
The Circular Economy Innovation Grant Scheme (CEIGS), a Government of Ireland initiative led by the Dept. of the Environment, Climate and Communications is now open for applications and its purpose is to provide support to projects which work in the circular Economy space, with the aim of advancing the circular Economy in Ireland and raising awareness of the need to transition to this type of economy.
